Stephen Leigh Stokes, 72, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, surrounded by family.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Carlisle Funeral Home with Rev. Sunny Simpson officiating the service. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Stephen was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved and adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His favorite things to do in life were building houses, and dancing with his wife.

Stephen was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine Stokes; his parents, Walter and Jessie Stokes; sisters, Carol Phillips and Jerri Tanner; and brother, Joe Stokes.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Stokes; sons, Stephen Stokes Jr., Jason Stokes, Jimmy Braswell, and Brooks Braswell; 12 grandchildren, Scott, Jacob, Dylan, Taylor, Kaleigh, Courtney, McKenzie, Kevin, Jason, Abigail, Ruth, and Naomi;13 great grandchildren; and his brother, Gordan Stokes.

Visitation will be at 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Carlisle Funeral Home.
