Charles H. Fussell, 77, passed away Saturday, October, 12, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center with his family by his side.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 2:00 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home with Reverend Jessie Blalock officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Tarboro, N.C. Family will receive friends and other relatives Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at the home, 810 Hilma Circle, Tarboro, N.C.

Charles retired from Carlisle Funeral Home after 30 years of service. He was dedicated to the families that he served at Carlisle Funeral Home and to the community. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending times with family, friends and his church family. After retiring from Carlisle Funeral Home, he could be seen in the community cutting grass and cleaning yards. He truly loved being outside in this type of environment. He will be greatly missed.

Charles was born in Edgecombe County to David A. "Buddy" and Mable Abrams Fussell, June 22, 1942. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Joyner.

Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 57 years, Sue D. Fussell; Daughters, Wanda Jaquette (Dallas Mitchell), Lisa Lewis (Ken Lewis); Brothers, David A. Fussell and Norman D. Fussell; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
