Charles R. Watson, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital with his family by his side.
A Celebration of Charles’ Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 16, at Free Will First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley E. Buck officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Charles will be greatly missed by his family and friends, or anyone that knew him. He was a faithful member of First Free Will Baptist Church since 1969, until his health started to deteriorate.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, LuAnn Bridgers.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mavis Watson; daughter, Linda Goff and husband Donald, of Bethel; son-in-law, Kenneth Bridgers, of Macclesfield; grandchildren, Carol Sutton (Donald), of Chesapeake, VA, Matthew Joyner (April), of Tarboro, Stephen Joyner (Aftin), of Speed, Sandy Goff (Meaghan), of Winterville, and Brandy Goff (Dee Dee), of Nashville; four great-grandchildren, Austin and Mackenzie Joyner, Kaylee and Bradyn Goff; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday night, June 15, at Carlisle Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm and other times at the home of Charles and Mavis Watson, 5841 US Hwy 258 S., Tarboro, NC.
