Charles (Rusty) Harrell, 49, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 6, at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Rusty was born in Tarboro on January 26, 1969 to JoAnn and Charlie Harrell.

After graduating from East Carolina University, Rusty moved to St. Simons Island, Ga., where he began his career in cellphone sales. Rusty eventually became an authorized agent for U. S. Cellular and opened his own store, “Air Link” in New Bern.

Rusty’s first love was spending time with his precious daughters, Emma and Lydia. He also loved East Carolina football, boating, and spending time with family and friends.

Rusty is survived by his loving daughters, Emma JoAnn Harrell and Lydia Gail Harrell, of New Bern; his parents, JoAnn and Charlie Harrell, of Tarboro; a brother, Troy Harrell, of New Bern. Rusty is also survived by a large loving family of uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday at Carlisle Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm, and others times at the home of his parents, 1412 West Hills Drive, Tarboro, NC.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3131 RDU Center Drive, Suite 100 Morrisville, NC 27560, or to a charity of your choice.
