Drew Bess Howell, Jr., 64, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, September, 30, 2018 at Hope Free Will Baptist Church, Scotland Neck, NC with Pastor Matthew Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery with Military Honors. Family will receive friends and other relatives on Sunday from 2:00–3:00pm at the church.

Drew was born in Edgecombe County on September 2, 1954 to Drew Bess and Paige Andrews Howell. Drew proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was employed with Bridgestone Tire Company for many years as a maintenance supervisor and was the owner of D.B. Electric Company. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends where he was known to land his bait in trees, rocks and other places, anywhere but the water.

He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 46 years, Betty Keeter Howell; son, Daniel Howell and his wife Brittany of New Bern; granddaughter, Grace Howell; brother, Robert “Bob” Warren Howell and wife Elsie of Warrenton; sister, Gwen Rodgers and Ronnie of Tarboro; brother-In-Laws, (like brothers) Cecil Forehand of Pinetops, and Ray Keeter of Scotland Neck.
