Eugenia Ann (Jenkins) Anderson

Ann Jenkins Anderson, age 88, passed away on Sunday, December 09, 2018.

Ann was born in Tarboro to Samuel Gatlin Jenkins and Eugenia Harrell Jenkins. Ann graduated from Tarboro High School, Salem College and received her Master’s Degree from East Carolina University. She was a first grade teacher for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kirkland Anderson; her husband Robert Anderson; brothers, Dr. Samuel Gatlin Jenkins, Jr. (Jacquelin) and Turner Perry Jenkins.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her sons, Samuel Jenkins Anderson (Rosemary), William Turner Anderson (Patti); grandsons, Jonathan Kirkland (Leah), Samuel Anderson (Mallori), Will Anderson (Jenny), Rawls Anderson, Andrew Kirkland, Robert Anderson (Brooke) and Timmy Kirkland;11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sally Vieth Jenkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Ann’s life will be held at 11:00am in Calvary Episcopal Church, Tarboro on Thursday, December 13, with the Rev. Noah Howard officiating. The interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 until 8 Pm at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at the home of Sam and Rosemary Anderson, 1605 Longview Ave., Tarboro, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Episcopal Church in Ann’s Memory.
