Hilda Proctor Bridgers, 90, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, in Macclesfield Cemetery with Pastor Billy Crabtree officiating.

Hilda, affectionately known as Grandma, shared her loving heart with everyone who knew her. She was dedicated to her family and faith. She made life positive for those around her because of her determination to find the good in life’s challenges and never give up. She was a woman with strength to guide her family with fortitude of what is right and wrong with gentleness. She will be dearly missed.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Reddin and Ada Anderson Proctor; husband, Robert “Bob” Bridgers; sister, Mildred Turner; son, Robert Dennis Bridgers; grandson, Jeffrey Bridgers; daughter-in-law, Lu Ann W. Bridgers.

She is survived by her loving family which includes her daughter, Patricia Stallings, of Pinetops; sons, Kenneth Bridgers, of Macclesfield, Jerry Bridgers (Brenda), of North Myrtle Beach; brother, Paul Proctor, of Ernul, N.C.; grandchildren, Taft Stallings (Amanda), Kirk Stallings (Rachel), Carol Sutton (Donald), Tracie Herman (Eugene), Jenny Newton (Billy) Michael Bridgers, Timothy Scott Bridgers (Lesley) Elizabeth Webb (Andre), Megan Taylor (Bradley), Katie Michelle Bridgers, Maricia Rodwell and Bryan Rodwell; daughter-in-law Charlene Register Bridgers, of New Bern; and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives following the service at the cemetery.
