Linda was a beautician for over 53 years. She loved her clients and each and every one of them were special. They were family….she not only fixed their hair, she shared their lives. She was also a dedicated member of Pender’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Her love and service to people were some of her greatest assets. She was known for remembering others birthdays. Whether it was baking a cake, making a goody bag, or simply mailing a card, she was always insistent on making things just right for others on their special day. She served others selflessly, and would go the extra mile to make sure others needs were met.
Her greatest love was her family. She was NANA to Casey, Hunter, Lindsey, Dustin Vadden, Waylon, Garrett, Cayden, Brooke, Bailee, & soon to be Liam. She loved these children and dedicated herself in making sure their every need was met and lots of times their wants as well. Their NANA made sure they were respectful, hardworking, and most of all always use good manners. She wanted nothing but the best for them. Not in material things, but in life. She wanted them to do their best and would not accept any less.
She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 54 years, Jimmy L Lewis, (Buddy) of Tarboro. Her children, Anita L. Hobgood and husband Harold W. Hobgood Jr., their children Casey Lee Bourne and her husband Hunter, their two sons Garrett and Cayden. Lindsey Brooke Walston and her husband Dustin, their future son Liam Jimmy L. Lewis, Jr. (Lee), his sons Vadden and Waylon. Her siblings, Hartford S. Strickland Jr, (Jr), James Ray Strickland (Ray), Rayford T. Strickland (Rayford), Avery Lee Strickland (Dick), Brenda S. Warren, Jerry Lee Strickland (Jerry), and Connie S. Perry and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends.
