Myrtle Corbett Glover, age 90, passed away on May 11, 2018 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, VA.
Myrtle was born Myrtle Patty Ann Corbett on April 10, 1928 to parents Mark and Ora Corbett in Edgecombe County, NC. Myrtle moved to Rocky Mount, NC when she married Carl Glover of Nashville, NC.
Funeral service will be held Monday, May 14, 2018, 11:00am, Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Nashville, N. C.
Family will receive friends and other relatives Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Mark W. Glover of Havelock, NC; her daughter, Deborah E. Glover of Woodbridge, VA; her granddaughters, Tracy Durst, Stacy Martinez and Brandy Heath; her sister, Olivia Anderson; and her six great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Adrienne, Logan, Timothy, Kristen, and Katy. She is predeceased by her husband, Carl; her parents, her sister Betty Gray Corbett; and her brother, Don Ellis Corbett.
Even in the depths of dementia and a prolonged stay at Burke Health and Rehabilitation Center, Myrtle still remembered the words to the songs, I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles, You Are My Sunshine, and Have You Ever Been A-Fishing. She told everyone they were beautiful and always had a word of thanks for those who helped her.
