Rachel Idonia (White) Hoard

   Rachel White Hoard, passed away June 1, 2018. She was 79, born in Colerain, NC, the baby of nine children, to Richard Carson and and Lossie Dunn White. Rachel raised five children, working at Hart Mill, manager of Burger King ,babysitting, baking and selling cakes. She loved her flower gardens and grandkids. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband Jennis “Chick” Hoard, daughter Geraldine “Sissy” Clark, son Sammie Bullock Jr., grandson Alan Clark and granddaughter Ella Hoard. She is survived by three sons and daughter in laws; Carson and Shearyl Clark (Tarboro); Joe and Debbie Clark(Tarboro) and John and Sara Hoard (Ayden). By her grandchildren; Darlene Scott, Josh Clark, Matthew Clark, Grace Hoard, Faith Hoard and Joy Hoard. Greatgrandchildren Briar Scott, Emery Scott, and Vincent Scott. Two sisters, Grace Robinson and Ada Joyner.

A Celebration of Rachel’s Life will be held be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at St. Michaels Episcopal Church with the Rev. Noah Howard. The burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends and family Monday night at Carlisle Funeral Home from the hours of 6 Pm until 8 Pm.
