Mr. Robert “Bobby” Ray Millard, Jr. of Tarboro passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at his home in Tarboro, NC.

He was born on February 8, 1940 in Kenova West, VA.

He was the son of the late Robert R. Millard and Doris Chafin. Bob was a retired Industrial Maintenance Manager in the food industry who loved his wife and family dearly. He is preceded in death by Robert Ray Millard of Aurora, NC, Doris Chafin chun Ming of Maui, Hawaii, Paternal Grandparents Harvey Ray Millard and Martha Booth Millard of Kenova, West Va., Maternal Grandparents Dorsey Chafin and Shirley Messer Chafin of Kenova West, Va.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Miriam Chappell Millard, Children Robert Ray Millard III and wife Pam, Anthony Scott Millard and friend Tammy West, God Daughter Rhonda Wall and husband Donald, Grandchildren Billy, April, Sarah, Anna and Cary, Scott Jr, Shannon, Miriam, Shane, Allen Ray, Heather, Melissa, Tiffanie, twenty nine great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, brothers Lisle Harvey Millard and wife Cindy of Newnan, GA. Chris Millard and friend Teresa Honeycutt of Aurora, Jeff Millard of Aurora, Sisters Martha Millard Worsley of Ocean Isle Beach, Debbie Millard Lyon and husband John of Mt Airy, Shirley Sue Chung Ming of Maui, Hawaii, Close and dear uncle Robert Gordon Chafin and wife Alfredia of Ceredo, West Va., Special friends Jean Treber and John Cori of York, Pa., Betsy James of Tarboro, Pastor Bob Forehand of Fremont, NC and special brother-in-law Preston and wife Eva Chappell, also close sister-in-law Ann DeMeris Chappell.

Bob was a well traveled industrial engineer having worked all over the United States until his retirement. Bob loved sharing his love for the Lord. He taught Sunday School and was Interim Minister and Church Deacon. He was a Worship Leader for many years.

Jean and John said, “When we all go to heaven I want to be in the same room with Miriam and Bobby in the kitchen. Bobby was the Best Chef.”

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Tarboro on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 3 PM with the family receiving friends one hour before the service at the church.
