Julius Stanley Vick, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2018. He is survived by his loving family, including two daughters, Charlotte Sullivan and husband Dennis, and Rebecca Jones and husband Keith; four grandchildren, Dennis Sullivan, Jr. (Mollie), Erin Sullivan Scoggins (Sean), Ashley Jones, and Keith Jones; and seven great grandchildren, Hayes, Grayson, Aidan, and Bennett Sullivan and Miller, Gibson, and Serena Scoggins. He also leaves behind his brother, J.C. Vick, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife, Helen Augustine Farmer Vick, his parents, Benjamin and Lena Lilly Vick, and four brothers and three sisters.
Stanley was born on April 7, 1925. He graduated as Valedictorian from Speed High School and was a veteran of World War II, serving our country in the United States Army in Germany. In 1948, he married Augustine, his beloved wife of 63 years. They enjoyed dancing, playing bridge, and raising their daughters. Stanley was president of Farmer Oil Company until he retired. At that point, he and Augustine travelled across the United States. He was a Grand Master Mason and a member of the Kiwanis, Rotary, and Shrine clubs. He built beautiful furniture. His greatest joy was in teaching life skills to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He spent his last eight years at the Fountains at the Albemarle. He leaves behind many friends there as well as throughout Tarboro. He was always generous, loving, kind, and very much his own man.
