Coleman Watts, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, August 12, at Carlisle Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday at the funeral home following the service and other times at the home: 2406 N. Main Street, Tarboro, NC 27886.
Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and Edith Watts; sister, Patricia Watts Andrews; and beloved canine, Coco.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Danielle Watts, and grand-daughter, Georgia; both of Beaufort, SC; best friend, partner in crime, and longtime love, Ann Oliver Head; sisters, Darkas Watts Adams, of Walstonburg, NC; Scarlet Watts McQuage, of Grifton, NC; Portia Watts Poole and husband Gary, of Sharpsburg, NC; brother-in-law, Rhyan Andrews, of Las Vegas, NV; and several generations of nieces and nephews that he treated like his own kids.
Coleman was a one-of-a-kind, beautiful spirit. He lived everyday with joy, unlimited humor, and faithfulness to family lifelong friends, and strangers alike.
He never knew a stranger and was kind to all people. He lived many places over the years, but always made it back to his lifelong home in Tarboro, NC, often bringing people home with him that didn’t have anywhere else to go.
He adored his daughter and grand-daughter with all his heart. He would always say, “I love my Georgia cracker.” He lived each day with a grateful heart and was thankful for all that he had. He had so looked forward to retiring and living a farmer’s life in a house he was building from scratch with his own hands and with the helping hands and hearts of some of his closest friends.
