Angela "Darlene" Newton Butler, 59 of Tarboro, passed away on Thursday morning, April 13, 2023.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all that knew her.

Darlene was born on February 29, 1964 In Tarboro, North Carolina to Columbus and Ella Newton of Tarboro.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Ella Newton; son Brad Butler; sister Vickie Briley; brother-in-law, Terry Holloman.

She is survived by her father, Columbus Newton; husband of 35 years, Dan Butler; sister, Deborah Holloman; daughters Michelle Driver (John); Amanda Butler (Brian); son Josh Butler; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 very special friend, Janice Owens, her fur-baby Jake; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Darlene was a wonderful, loving wife, and the most amazing mother. She loved her animals (any kind you can think of), being outside, planting and watching things grow and flourish, but most of all she loved her husband, kids, and grandkids. Her favorite place in all the world was the beach. She enjoyed and looked forward to any get together or holiday so she could play games and dance with all the grandkids. She loved to cook, especially desserts. She made a friend wherever she went. She will be greatly missed but her memories will forever be cherished by anyone who knew her.

The family will receive friends and family at Carlisle Funeral Home on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 12:00-2:00 PM with funeral services following at 2:00 PM.
