Annette Jones Wooten (Manette), 85, died on August 15th, 2024 at home surrounded by family.

She was born on April 1, 1939, in Edgecombe County, NC to John Worsley Jones and Annie Webb Jones.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Donald Ray Wooten; her son, Donald "Don" Ray Wooten Jr.; and her siblings Lynwood and Clark Jones.

Survivors include her son, Danny Joe Wooten and wife, Debra Phipps Wooten; grandsons Kenneth Wooten (April), Heath Wooten (Nikki), and Don Wooten; granddaughter Kayla Harrell Davis (Fred); great grandchildren Ayden, Kyler, Alex, Ally, Wesley, and Hayden.

Manette was a faithful servant to her community; she served on the Ladies Auxiliary of Macclesfield Rural Volunteer Fire Department and voting polls. She worked at her Aunt Lucy's Soda Shop but her most cherished profession was being a homemaker. She spent many years being a devoted farm wife and taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She fiercely loved her family, never missing any occasion, school, or sporting event.

The family wishes to thank the employees of Hospice of Wilson, and special family friends Di'ana Worrells Moore and Sandra Wooten. Her son and grandchildren want to extend the most heartfelt gratitude to her daughter in law, Debra for her tireless caregiving.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 17th from 6pm-8pm at Carlisle Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 18th at 2pm at Carlisle Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Causey officiating. Burial will follow at Macclesfield Cemetery.
