Archie Douglas Proctor, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 21, at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Archie was born in Edgecombe County on June 6, 1937 to the late Elijah Proctor and Pearl Jones Proctor. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He loved farming, hunting, fishing and just being outdoors.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sally Whitley Proctor; daughter Betty Lou Trevathan and husband David; son Archie Proctor, Jr. and wife Robin; sisters, Linda Howlett, Doris Chapel; brothers, Jimmy Proctor (Judy), Luke Proctor (Sue) and Bobby Proctor (Barbara); grandchildren, Jamie Proctor (Cindy), Brandon Trevathan (Catherine), Kristen Proctor (Shawn), Christal Wooten (Dan); great-grandchildren, Kristopher (Michaela), Kalob, Archer, Lizzy, Colton; great-great-grandchildren, Ava and Kylie.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30-3:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the Proctor home.
