Barbara Jean Decker Phillips died unexpectedly March 9th, 2022. She would have been 85 on her birthday April 29th, 2022. Born in Buena Vista, VA, to Herman Crist Decker and Elizabeth Dora Reid. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Herman and Kenneth; and her husband Robert Phillips.

She is survived by her sister Virginia Norvelle McClurg of Lakeland, FL. She is also survived by her two daughters; Christine Ganoe and husband Robert of Cocoe, FL and granddaughter Rachel Whiteley; Beth Ferrell and husband Ronald Ferrell of Macclesfield and their children; April Ferrell Nesbit and husband Harry with great grandchildren Sophia and Grayson; Dr. Sarah Ferrell Weeks and husband Gregory and great grandchildren Landen and Amelia; and Robert Ferrell and Fiancée Logan Meacham.

Memorial Services will be held at HMC on 3/28/2022 at 4PM. The family will receive friends in the church and fellowship hall immediately afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the HMC music fund as Mrs. Phillips was a life-long organist and choir member.
