Barbara Ann Hoard, 79, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Barbara was born in Edgecombe County on August 12, 1943.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Morgan Smith; brothers Bernie and Eddie; sister Eleanor Lecroy; and parents Frances Cannon and B. P. Cannon, Jr.

She leaves behind her loving family: Husband Bill Hoard, Jr; Brother Butch Cannon; Sister Cheryl Butler; Children: Sandy Blackman (Anthony), Michael Hoard (Shelley), Bonnie Meyer, Judi Owens (Jeff); Grandchildren: Brooks Smith (Stacey), Chuck Owens (Ashley), Paige Swanson (Ben), Amber Owens, Jesse Blackman (Jasmine), Addison Hoard, Ashton Owens, Kennedy Hoard, Alyssa Owens; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, Mema and sister. She will be missed dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 8 at Carlisle Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
