Barbara Jean Lynn, 73, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022.
She was born in Edgecombe County to King Joseph and Minnie Ruth Lynn on March 16, 1948.
Barbara was a retired RN from Edgecombe County Health Department after many years of service. She was a member of Brentwood Pentecostal Holiness Church and loved to worship The Lord, and also was an ordained minister. She devoted her complete life to God, her children, and her grandchildren. When Barbara talked about the Lord she never knew a stranger. Barbara loved her family, church family, and had many friends. Barbara loved to say, "Best is yet to come, and I am in love with a man I cannot see."
She was preceded in death by her parents, King Joseph and Minnie Ruth Lynn; sister, Sue Lynn Taylor; and her brother, Michael "Mickey" Ray Lynn.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Jean Armstrong and fiancé Joey Courchesne; son, Ronald Craig Armstrong II and wife Sharon Hartsoe; grandchildren, Matthew Roland Coley, Makayla Lynn McRoy, Crystal Lynn Armstrong, and Jessica Nicole Armstrong; siblings, Jo Ann Hale and late husband Henry Hale, Peggy Capps and her late husband Gray Capps, Donnie Lynn and late wife Trudy Lynn, Addie Keel and husband James Keel, Billy Lynn and wife Sandra Lynn, Kathy Lynn and late husband Michael "Mickey" Ray Lynn, Evelyn Walston and husband Bobby Walston.
The family has requested that everyone wears a mask and social distance during the funeral service and visitation.
Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Brentwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday at Brentwood Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park with Rev. Paul Mobley and Rev. James Keel officiating.
