Barbara Jean Walston 88 of Tarboro North Carolina died at ECU Edgecombe Hospital on September 6, 2023. Barbara was born in Wilson County on October 6th, 1934 to Madeline and James Thigpen. Barbara worked at Glenoit, Mayo Knitting Mill, and Black and Decker. She later babysat in the home. She was a dedicated Mother, Grandmother who loved her family. She especially loved her Church and Church family at Northern Boulevard Baptist Church.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, brother Roberth Kenneth Thigpen, Son Jeffery Walston. She is survived by her Daughter Angie Perkins and Husband Sam. Grandchildren Michael Britt, Brian Britt and Wife Ally, Hayley Britt and Jonathan Walston with 7 Great grandchildren. Special Thanks to Well Care Home Health Nurses, Nurses in the emergency department and ICU at ECU Edgecombe Hospital and Dr. Silver, Vantreia Gross and staff at Reginal Orthopedic Wound Care Center, and Her Church family at Northern Boulevard Baptist Church and special family friend Kathy Alford.

Family will receive visitors and friends at the home 145 S. Fairview Circle Tarboro NC 27886 and at Carlisle Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on September 9th, 2023. Funeral will be held at Northern Boulevard Baptist Church on September 10th, 2023 at 2:00. Burial will follow at Stantonsburg Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to Northern Boulevard Baptist Church at 502 E Northern Boulevard Tarboro NC 27886.
