Benjamin Robert "Bud" Whitehurst, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 8, 2018.

His funeral service will be held on Friday at First Free Will Baptist Church at 11:00am with the Rev. Stanley E. Buck officiating. Entombment will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Bud was born on October 14, 1939 and resided in Conetoe for 78 years. He served in the United States Army before returning home to run the family farm. He has farmed in the Conetoe area for 55 years.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Moses and Velma Owens Whitehurst; and a sister, Polly Peaden.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Whitley Whitehurst; sons, Bennie and wife Michelle, Travis and wife Ronna, Jeff and wife Nichole; five grandchildren, Devan, Chase, Noah, Caleb, and Eli.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday night from 6:00-8:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home.
