IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Sue
Allgood
March 4, 1930 – April 10, 2020
Betty Sue Doles Allgood
TARBORO, NC
Betty Sue "Susie" Doles Allgood, 90, entered fully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas G. Allgood, Jr. Born in Elm City, NC, Susie was the daughter of the late Wesley B. and Eileen A. Doles.
Susie was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in Wilson, NC. Her passions in life were family, faith and music. She was a natural teacher who studied and shared God's word and truths; her heart's desire was to bring others to a relationship with Jesus Christ – a legacy that she gifted to all of her children. As a talented pianist, she also enjoyed sharing her love of music.
Susie is survived by four devoted daughters: Sherry A. Smith and husband, Forrest, of Tarboro; Betsy A. Harrell and husband, Mike, of Rocky Mount; Carolyn A. Waff of Cary; and Kendra A. Phillips and husband, Chuck, of Deep Gap. Also surviving are sister, Nancy D. Mitchell of Wilson; brother, Wesley B. Doles, Jr. and wife, Mary Lou, of Morehead City; and grandchildren Hunter Waff, Alexa Waff, Kennie Phillips, Charley Phillips, Jordan Phillips and Reilly Phillips.
The family will have a private graveside service to celebrate Susie's life.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. James United Methodist Church, Tarboro, NC, where Susie was a lifelong member, or to Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational Christian organization that provides aid to hurting people around the world with the purpose of sharing God's love through His Son, Jesus Christ.
