Betty Hurst Holland, 76, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 7th at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Hendricks officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Jonesboro Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseland, Va.

Betty was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on January 14, 1946 to the late Ruben Howard Hurst, Jr. and Maria Clarkson Hurst; brother, Larry Hurst,. She retired as a school teacher for Edgecombe County Schools after many years of service.

She is survived by her loving family which includes her husband, Billy "Fuzzy" Holland; son, Worth Creech and wife Emily; daughters, Melissa Creech Johnson and Blair Nicole Creech; grandchildren, McGuire and Addison Johnson, Ellie, West and Clark Creech; brothers, Frank Hurst and wife Barbara of Richmond, sister-in-law, Debbie Hurst; Ed Hurst and wife Elaine; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Penders Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3246 Howard Ave., Tarboro, NC 27886.
