Betty C. Jones passed away peacefully in her home in Pinetops on Wednesday morning, December 21, 2022.

She was born March 8th, 1937 in Halifax County to the late Alton B Clemmons and Annie Pearl Clemmons. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Rabon Clemmons and Jim Clemmons. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Clarence Jones Sr.

She is survived by her four children, daughter, Phyllis J. Williams of Pinetops, and sons, Donald Glenn Jones (Suzie) of Elm City, William C. Jones Jr. (Tena) of Elizabeth City, Thomas Ray Jones (Ann) of Whitakers. She is also survived by her siblings, sister, Gail Joyner of Enfield, and brothers, Junior Clemmons of Tarboro, Frank Clemmons (Edith) of Enfield, Wayne Clemmons (Rebecca) of Smithfield, and Ronnie Clemmons (Shirley) of Elm City. Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.

She loved shopping, canning foods, crafts, old timey country music, and spending time with her family.

The family will receive family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro on Monday, December 26, 2022. A graveside service will be done at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, with her grandson Pastor Keith Williams officiating.
