Betty Mae Strickland peacefully passed away in her sleep on August 29th at her home in Tarboro, NC, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 14th, 1936, in NC.

Betty is survived by her significant other, Rayford Turner Strickland Sr.; her children Ray Strickland Jr. (Barbara), Debbie "Dee" Strickland, and Ginger Harris (Elwood); her 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Mae Simpson and Wheeler Mayo Simpson, and her granddaughter, Christina Wilma Boehm.

Betty will be fondly remembered for her infectious smile, often shared with friends and neighbors. She delighted in sharing her cherished recipes and childhood stories. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and warmth, and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
