Betty Ann Varnell Lewis, of Elm City, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Surrounded by loved ones, Betty Ann passed away peacefully at the ECU Cancer Center.  She is survived by her husband, Danny Lewis, and son, Robert Lewis, both of Elm City; sisters, Jean Shelton of Macclesfield, Katie Rogers of Macclesfield; brother, BC Varnell of Macclesfield, Randy Varnell of Nashville, and countless family and friends.

Betty Ann was a devout Christian, as well as an incredible cook, mother, and wife of fifty-seven years.  She enjoyed taking trips with Danny and Robert, especially to Myrtle Beach.  Her smile, kindness and huge heart will be missed by many on earth but cherished by many in heaven.

Celebration of Life Service on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 12:00 noon in Carlisle Funeral Home Chapel, Tarboro, NC.

Visitation prior to service on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro, NC.

Interment to follow at Maccelsfield City Cemetery.
