Betty Ruth Whitley, 82, died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 pm in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Betty was born in Pitt County to Jake and Mary Elks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Whitley.

She is survived by her loving family including daughter, Dinah Jackson; sons, Steve Whitley and Ronnie Whitley. Grandchildren, Christy Whitley, Kelly Carraway, Tracy Whitley, and Harley Lewis. Great-grandchildren, Eli Nava, Hannahlin Nava, Lila Hernandez, Jalie Horton, Tyler Carraway, Taylor Carraway, Levi Lewis, Liam Lewis; and sister, Leona Harrell.
