Graveside will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Dew Family Cemetery, 75 Colonial Road, Tarboro.

Billy DeLoatch Dew, 80, of Tarboro, died at his home on Thursday, August 12, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Billy lived and worked on the family farm that he was born and raised on in Edgecombe County. Farming and family truly were his biggest passions. He could be found at a farm sale spending time with friends or at one of the many activities of his grandchildren. He will be missed by many and is leaving a farming legacy that his son is carrying on.

He was born on April 17, 1941 in Tarboro, the son of late Kerg Staton Dew and Lucille Frazier Dew. He was proceeded in death by his brothers; Kerg Dew, Jr., James "Tim" Dew and John Alfred Dew and sisters; Betty Lou Worthington and Sue Dupree.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Carol Joyner Dew. Son, Bill Dew and wife, Sherry of Tarboro. Grandchildren, Mallori and husband Samuel Anderson, Brooke and husband Tyler Phillips, Grant Dew and Briley Griffin. He is also survived by great grandchildren; Haley, Caitlyn, Brilen, Jenkins and Vin Anderson; Harrison and Percy Phillips. Siblings; Benjamin "Tom" Dew and wife Ginger, sister Margaret Aldridge and sister-in-law Betty Ann Dew. He also leaves behind a host of special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 15 from 6:00-8:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at the home, located at 75 Colonial Road, Tarboro. A Celebration of Billy's life will be held at a later date at the Dew's Family Cemetery.
