Bobby Edward Holloman, known to many others as Mr. Bob, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on November 6, 2024. He was 84 years old.

Bobby was born in Wilson County to Joe Robert and Sarah Elizabeth Summerlin Holloman. After graduating from West Edgecombe School, he chose a life of service to his country and enlisted in the United States Navy.

Bobby proudly served for twenty years as a Navy Corpsman. He served in Vietnam as a medic. He was deployed to the Indian Ocean on a submarine tender in support of fleet operations during the Iran hostage crisis. He completed his service at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA in 1983. He continued to work throughout his life at Superior Essex, and in retirement at NAPA auto parts.

Bobby's devotion to his country was exceeded only by his devotion to his family.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Robert and Sarah Elizabeth Summerlin Holloman; daughter, Sarah Louise Holloman; and parents in law, Lane Benton and Emma Louise Hyde Simpson; brothers, James Alton Holloman and wife Sally, Joseph Robert Holloman and wife Adele, and Billy Graham Holloman; and sisters, Janet Holloman, Annie Williams and husband Sam, and Dorothy Lewis.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Louise Simpson Holloman; daughters, Crystal McDonald and husband Gary, and Tia Johnson and husband Marcus; grandchildren, Emily Grace Edgerton, Liam McDonald, Claire McDonald, Morgan Johnson, Payton Barbor and husband Anthony, and Madison Laine McDonald; great granddaughter, Danielle Lynn Barbor; and brother, Carl Lamm of Goldsboro and wife Rosa.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00pm, Saturday, November 9, 2024, and funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Carlisle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at his home, 2400 Whitehall Street, Tarboro, NC 27886.
