Bonnie Thompson Hagan, age 78, died of complications with Leukemia on August 15th at University of Louisville Hospital.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 21, 2020, 1:00 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, Friday from 11:00 – 12:45 pm.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 59 years Edward (Ed) Marshall Hagan, her children, Edward Marshall Hagan Jr (Kim), Jae Hagan Neumann (Dave), Bruce Allen Hagan (Caroline), John Thompson Hagan (Melissa) and David Zimmerman Hagan (Crystal). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Blake Neumann, Hannah Neumann, Josh Hagan, Brittany Strickland, David Hagan, Emily Hagan, Benjamin Hagan, Jacob Hagan, Samuel Hagan and Nicholas Hagan. She also survived by her great-grandchildren, Abigail Strickland, Jacob Strickland, Camden Neumann, Beckett Neumann, soon to be Kayleigh Hagan; and a sister Judy Williams (Freddy).

Bonnie is preceded in death by her Mother Clara Thompson, her identical twin sister Bobbie Whalen, her brother Bruce Thompson and her father Oscar (OF) Thompson.

Bonnie was born in Tarboro North Carolina on October 26, 1941 to OF and Clara Thompson. She graduated from Tarboro High School and went on to attend East Carolina University. She met the love of her life, her soulmate and best friend Ed while at East Carolina. After just a few weeks they both knew that what they had was love, was real and was what God had put in place. They were married at the Justice of the Peace in Pitt County. Their love was unending, unbreakable and everlasting.

Bonnie was a devout Christian who strongly believed in Jesus Christ as her and her families Lord and Savior. She will be missed dearly.
