Boyce Clark Owens, age 86, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday at Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
He was born in Wilson County on October 15, 1932 to Herman Earl Owens and Molly Lee Owens. During his younger days, he loved talking with people on his CB, he went by the handle, "Huckleberry Hound" and he had many CB friends. Some of his other favorite things to do were tinkering in his garage and spending time with his wife, family and friends sitting on his porch.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by brothers, Herman Lee, Laddie and Durwood Owens; sisters, Faye Adcock and Shirley Adcock; son, Billy Owens
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce Ann Owens; sister, Carol Boisvert of Venice, FL; sons: Willie Owens and wife Pam of Tarboro, Bennie Owens and wife Catherine of Clayton and Jerry Owens and wife Jennifer of Tarboro; daughter-in-Law, Janice Owens of Rocky Mount; grandchildren,Wendy McLawhorn and husband Matt of Tarboro, Kristy Stewart and husband Greg of Cove City, Andrew Owens of Tarboro, Elizabeth McKeel of Tarboro, Justin Owens and wife Jessica of Momeyer, Dustin Tyson of Tarboro, Logan Owens of Tarboro; great-grandchildren, Marshall and Madeline McLawhorn, Trevor Owens; and a host of brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Flowers are welcome or donations can be made "in memory of", to Penders Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 3246 Howard Ave Ext., Tarboro, NC 27886.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday night at Carlisle Funeral Home from 6:30-9:00pm.
