Brenda Carol Jenkins Brown, 78, formerly of Tarboro, NC, passed away after a long illness at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, 10:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Rocky Mount, NC. Entombment will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park, in Tarboro, NC with Herman Jenkins officiating.

Brenda was born in Lenoir County on February 7, 1945 to Herman and Verna Jenkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Jenkins.

She retired from Sprint Telephone Company after many years of service.

She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 60 years, Meanon Brown; sons, Ricky Lee Brown and Randy Lee Brown (Lisa); grandchildren, Jeremy Michael Edmondson, Ricky Lee Brown II, Zackary Brice Brown, Victoria Lynn Miller, Alicia Leanne Lowery and Amber Leigh Carter; 15 great-grandchildren; Brothers, Herman Jenkins (Jackie), Mike Jenkins (Anna); sister-in-law, Gayle Jenkins; sisters, Ann Gregg, Janice Grant and Glenda Henderson (Dan).
