Obituary

Brenda Carol Wooten Keen, age 73, of Macclesfield, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on February 7, 2026, surrounded by the love she so generously gave throughout her life.

Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Carlisle Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11:00am on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Carlisle Funeral Home with entombment following at Edgecombe Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Born on May 11, 1952, to Paul Wooten and Ruby Bass Wester, Brenda was a woman of quiet strength, radiant kindness, and unwavering devotion. She embodied grace in all she did, a beautiful soul with a heart of gold whose love knew no limits.

Brenda was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and a loving sister. Her life revolved around caring for others, especially her family, whom she treasured above all else. For 57 years, she shared a deep and faithful love with her husband, William "Bill" Keen, creating a home filled with warmth, music, and faith.

She found peace and joy in tending her garden, where flowers bloomed under her gentle touch—much like the lives she nurtured. Brenda had a God-given talent for music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. Alongside her husband and children, she sang and played the guitar, filling her home with melodies rooted in love and worship.

A woman of strong faith, Brenda faithfully read her Bible and loved the Lord with a humble and sincere heart. In her later years, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, sharing stories, laughter, and sweet memories of days gone by.

Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Keen; her first son, William David "Little Willie" Keen III; her parents, Paul Wooten and Ruby Bass Wester; and her cherished fur babies, Teddy Bear and Fefe.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children: Gail Holloman (David), Scott Keen, and William David Keen IV (Cyndi); her beloved granddaughter, Amy Lynn (Dillion); her treasured great-grandchildren, William Lynn and Lily-Anna Lynn; her loving sisters, Esther, Emma, and Jackie; a close family friend she loved as a son, John Barnes; and her devoted grand fur babies, Gracie and Oliver.

Brenda's life was a testament to love, faith, and selfless devotion. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and nurturing heart will forever remain in the lives of those she touched. Though she has been called home, her love continues to bloom—eternal and unwavering—in the hearts of her family.
