Carolyn E. Chamberlain, 78, of Tarboro, NC, formerly of Whitman, MA, passed away on December 20, 2023 at ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William S. and Bertha L. (Hansler) Chamberlain of Whitman. Carolyn was a native of Bridgewater, MA, but lived most of her life in nearby Whitman until she moved to North Carolina in 2017 to be closer to her family.

Carolyn received her education at Perkins School For The Blind in Watertown, MA. She pursued life with joy and discovery in spite of partial blindness and cerebral palsy. She always said she liked a challenge. Carolyn was a Rock'N'Roll Know-It-All, and personally met Dick Clark, The Everly Brothers, and her favorites, Lennie Baker and Bowser of Sha-Na-Na. She was an active member for many years at the Whitman United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women where she made many long time friends. She especially loved working at the cookie table during their annual Christmas Fair.

She is survived by her brother, Charles ( Chuck ) Chamberlain and wife, Linda of Greenville, NC; two nieces: Gabrielle ( Gael) Storey and husband Edward of Greenville, NC; Pamela Chamberlain-Knight and husband, John of Portland, ME; grand-niece, Chloe A. Knight of Portland, ME; and a favorite cousin, Donna M. Burke of West Bridgewater, MA. The family wishes to thank the staff at Fountains At The Albemarle Skilled Care and Edgecombe Health Center At Harborside for their loving care of Carolyn.
