On the evening of Thursday, February 19, 2026, Catherine “Cassie” Marie Warrington, 50, unexpectedly passed away. Cassie’s love, light, and spirit made their way to heaven.
Born in Tarboro on September 30, 1975, she was the daughter of Charles Wallace Warrington, III, and Catherine Leggett Warrington.
Her cup runneth over with the love she had for her mother. Mama Warrington told Cassie when she was a little girl, “You’re going to meet your best friends at Saint Mary’s one day.” And through her years at Saint Mary’s, she met the greatest people, and they became best friends for over 35 years. Still cherishing each other after graduation, she knew they’d have a friendship that would last forever. It was a sisterhood that felt like home. Cassie moved through life with purpose. Her purpose was to love, be kind and always honor her mother, and she did that flawlessly. She joins her beloved mother in heaven, reunited in grace and peace.
Cassie was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Leggett Warrington. She is survived by her loving family; father, Charles W. Warrington, III, brother, Curt Warrington and wife Amy, along with a vast and grateful circle of friends whom she loved dearly.
Cassie held her family and friends close to her heart. She was a devoted daughter, sister, and friend. She was the sparkle in the eyes of all that met her; she never met a person that didn’t become her friend. Her life was filled with pride in her love of her family, friends near and far, work, her beloved cats and squirrel babies, philanthropy and most certainly her southern roots that shaped who she was. A graduate of UNC- Chapel Hill, Cassie was an avid Carolina fan and took pride in cheering for her Tar Heels.
May her laugh, her smile and her spirit be carried in your heart always. Cassie had a way of making the world feel warmer, brighter, and infinitely more welcoming simply by being in it. She gave freely and wholeheartedly, never expecting anything in return.
Please join us in a Celebration of Cassie’s Life at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Calvary Episcopal Church, 411 E Church St., Tarboro, NC. The family will receive guests immediately following the service in Clark Hall. A graveside will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Tarboro, NC.
The family would like to thank everyone for the calls, text, cards, and wonderful memories shared of Cassie’s provisions.
