Catherine Van Sickle, 78, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 3:00 pm, Calvary Episcopal Church with Reverend Dee Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Catherine graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After many years of service, she retired from the Employment Security Commission of North Carolina. Catherine was also a volunteer with American Red Cross, serving in Vietnam from 1967–1968 and receiving the Civilian Service Vietnam Medal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Bardin, Jr and Evelyn Corbett Bardin.

Catherine is survived by her loving family, including her son, Charles Van Sickle and wife, Christy Brown; sisters, Willie Gupton and Evelyn Purvis.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Willie and Irvin Gupton, 1012 S. Howard Circle, Tarboro, N. C.
