Charles Edward Dunn passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2022 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Pineview Cemetery, Pinetops, NC with Rev. Sang-Seon Park officiating.

Charles Dunn grew up in Pinetops, NC, Edgecombe County.  His parents were the late William L. Dunn, Jr. and Elizabeth Joyce Dunn. He attended Pinetops Elementary School and Fike High School, Wilson, NC, Class of 1962. Charles attended the University of North Carolina for a few years before joining the U.S. Navy serving in the Philippines and Japan.

He became a disabled Navy veteran and spent most of his later years in the Residential Care Program, VA Medical Center, Salisbury, NC, CLC (Community Living Center), where he developed close friends in his CLC dormitory.

Charles is survived by his brother, William L. Dunn III and wife Karen White Dunn of Raleigh, NC; and his sister, Betsy Dunn Peeples and husband, Robin Peeples of Raleigh, NC.
