Charles Washburn Coker Sr. of Tarboro, North Carolina, passed away on September 16, 2026 at the age of 76. He was born on March 29,1950, the second son of Washburn and Esther Coker. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his love of family and the simple things in life that brought him the greatest joy.

In his free time, Charles enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, gardening, and cooking for the people he loved. He especially enjoyed family gatherings and time spent surrounded by those closest to him. He was a driven worker, who was always on the go, as he made his career as a farmer in Edgecombe County. For more than 41 years, he shared his life with his wife, Shirley. Together they shared moments and memories that will live on and last a lifetime.

Charles was preceded in death by his son, Charles Washburn Coker Jr.; grandson, James Otis Bulluck Jr.( Amy); parents, Washburn T. and Esther Kent Coker; brother, Maxie T. Coker Sr.; and sister, Brenda C. Coker.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley; daughters, Crystal Bulluck (James), Cynthia Buck (James), and Heather Webb (Van); grandchildren, Jeffery Buck Sr. (Ellian), Dustin Bulluck, Cassidy, and Conner Liverman; great-grandchildren, Brendan, Tucker, and Finnley Bulluck, Jeffery Buck Jr., and Anderson Jones; and siblings, Rena Davis, Rose Webb (Allen), and Randy Coker (Cindy), and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Word of Life International Church in Tarboro, North Carolina.

At all other times, family and friends are welcome to gather at the home of Charles and Shirley Coker, 76 Washburn Lane, Tarboro, North Carolina.

Above all, Charles treasured his family. The love he gave and the memories he created with them will live on as his greatest legacy.
