Claude Wayne "C.W." Derby age 77 passed away at his home on December 23, 2021, surrounded by his family.

C.W. was born in Edgecombe County to David Charles and Katie Wells Derby on January 30, 1944. He was retired from the city of Rocky Mount after 20 years of service. He absolutely loved his job.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years Joan Webb Derby; daughters, Ronna Holland Whitehurst and husband Travis, Allison Holland Brake, and Angela Derby; and sons, Brad Holland and wife Alison Holland, David A. Derby, and Wayne Derby and wife Michelle. Also 2 stepdaughters from a previous marriage; his 4 grandchildren Trey Brake, Anna Brake, Jason Pridgen, and Jase Holland, and sister Lucy Turner.

The family will receive visitors at Carlisle Funeral Home from 12:00-1:30 P.M. on Thursday, December 30, 2021 with a graveside service following at Edgecombe Memorial Park with Pastor Brooks Wadsworth officiating.
