Connie Connor, 77, of Tarboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 22, 2024.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25th from 7:00 - 9:00pm at Carlisle Funeral home followed by a Memorial Service on Friday, January 26th at 2:00 pm.

Connie was born in Edgecombe County on November 4th, 1946 to the late Lloyd "Rat" and Lois "Sissy" Umphlet. She graduated from Tarboro High School in 1965 as class Valedictorian and pursed a lifelong career with the Town of Tarboro. She retired as Executive Director of the Redevelopement Commission of the Town of Tarboro.  After retirement, Connie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She had a passion for dancing, brought happiness wherever she went, and was always the life of the party.  Her kind, adventurous spirit and contagious laughter would light up every room. To know her was certainly to love her.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband Steve Connor and her parents, Lloyd "Rat" and Lois "Sissy" Umphlet. She is survived by her son, Stephen Connor; her fiancee Robbie Williams; her sister, Vicky Richardson and husband Ray; niece, Stacey Sloan and husband C.W. and their children Kaley, Payton, and Chelsea; nephew, Dave Richardson and his wife Amanda, and children David and Lauren; Cousins, Faye Hale and husband Mickey, Herbert "Buck" Beach and wife Janice, along with several other cousins, relatives, and many forever friends whom she loved so dearly.

Connie had the personality and natural charisma to make a friend in any encounter or situation. She was truly a wonderful, faithful woman whose impact will be forever felt by family and friends.

Visitation will be at 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Carlisle Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Carlisle Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Wade Williams officiating the service. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

And other times, the family will be receiving visitation from friends and family at the home of sister, Vicky Richardson.
