David Lee Chapman, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2018 at Vidant Edgecombe in Tarboro.

Funeral service will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home on Friday, July 27, at 2:00pm with the Rev. Wayne Flora officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pineview Cemetery in Pinetops.

David was born in Edgecombe County on February 21, 1938 to William and Ruby Batts Chapman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Chapman; brothers, John Chapman and Charles Chapman.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sue Lee Chapman; step-children, Cynthia Viverette and husband Robert, Brian Butler and wife Kim; special grandchildren, Tyler, Haylee, and Bentley Butler; sisters, Jean Allen, of Tarboro, Faye Heath and husband Lynwood, of Neptune Beach, Fl., Sue Joines, of Tarboro, Ruby Lane Stroup (Cookie) and husband Marlon, of Tarboro; daughter, Pam Webb and husband CJ; grand-daughter, Dawn Jones and husband Michael; great-grand daughter, Lindsay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank everyone for their phone calls, prayers, and visits.
