David Eugene Richardson, 46, of Greenville unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro followed by a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, August 28th at 2:00pm.
"Dave" was born on November 29, 1979, to Vicky and Ray Richardson. He graduated from Tarboro High School in 1998 and earned his associates degree from Pitt Community College as an electronic technician in 2002. Though his life was far too short, he lived a life that was full of laughter, adventure, hard work, and most importantly, love. He had a gift for making people smile and never met a challenge he wasn't willing to tackle. If something was broken, he could always figure out a way to fix it.
Dave was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd "Rat" and Lois "Sissy" Umphlet and WR "Tink" and Kathleen "Kat" Richardson and aunt and uncle, Connie and Steve Connor. He is survived by his wife, Amanda, and their two children, Little David and Lauren; parents, Vicky and Ray Richardson; sister, Stacey Richardson Sloan and husband C.W. and children; his nieces, Kaley, Payton, and Chelsea; cousin, Stephen Connor; aunt and uncle, Carol and Charlie Pistolis; aunt, Bonnie Alford; and many more special cousins.
Above all else, Dave deeply loved his family. His favorite expression was always claiming that "we had the best family in the whole world!" Dave was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. The memories he created through family gatherings, shared adventures, and everyday moments will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him. His laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering love for God and his family will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
