Delores Whitley Carlisle, 90, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023.

She was born on January 10, 1933 to the late Julian and Evelyn Whitley, and attended Penders Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Delores worked at Mayo's Mill for 15 years, loved playing bingo, solving word search puzzles and putting together picture puzzles. She greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and would light up whenever they came to visit.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert S Carlisle, daughter, Evelyn C Taylor, and son, Dennis R Carlisle.

She is survived by her son, Bob Carlisle (BJ) of Tarboro, granddaughter, Angela Lewis (Oliver) of Chocowinity, grandson, Robert Carlisle (Krystle) of Tarboro, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A celebration of life will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Visitation will be held from 1pm - 2pm, with the service immediately following.
