Denise Lyn Barnes passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma on April 25, 2026, at Duke Morris Hospital in Durham, NC. Denise fought the battle with determination and grace, displaying incredible courage.

Denise was a devoted wife to her husband Patrick, and she cherished her furbaby Piper. She was passionate about her job with Edward Jones, where she enjoyed working alongside her great friend Christy Warrick. She was an avid animal lover. She was compassionate and dedicated to animal welfare, making donations to local rescues.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband Patrick, her mother Rosalyn Shamilin, and her brother Jim Shamlin. She is predeceased by her father Arlice Ray Shamlin.

The family will receive friends and family Thursday night, April 30, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home.

A Private Graveside Service will be held on May 1, 2026.
