Donald Eugene Freeman, age 64, of Tarboro, North Carolina, passed away on the morning of Saturday, December 26, 2020. Donald, also known as "Don," or "Chico" to his friends and family, was a devoted husband and proud father who loved his family dearly. He had many passions, including boating, fishing, golf and old cars. Don spent most of his time with his beloved wife, Cheryl, together relaxing at the beach, or attending car shows in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Donald proudly served with the Army National Guard Reserve for six years, including a tour in Italy. He is preceded in death by his mother and father - Samantha Tucker Wright, and Alphis Eugene Freeman - his sister, Ellen Faye Stilley - as well as his daughter, Kristan Michelle Freeman. Donald is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cheryl G. Freeman; his son, Donald "Gene" Freeman, Jr.; and his sister, Doris Freeman Whitfield. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Graveside service for Donald will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
