Donald (Don) Wellington Hayes, 78, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital. He was born August 22, 1942 to Fulton and Sue Hayes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Myra Martin and brother, Richard Hayes.

Don is survived by his wife, Margaret Briggs Hayes, brother, Kenneth Hayes and a host of nieces and nephews.

Don was a successful farmer in Edgecombe County for many years. He was a former member of West Edgecombe Ruritan Club and West Edgecombe Volunteer Fire Department. Don was an avid fisherman and hunter.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount, NC with Rev. Donald Cashwell officiating.
