DORIS MARIE CARLISLE (1929-2019)

CONETOE- Doris M. Carlisle, 90, went to be with the Lord September 17th, 2019. She was born March 2nd, 1929 to the late Daniel and Martha Knox of Hassell, N.C.

Doris was a very family oriented lady, she also loved spending time working in her garden. She was a member of Conetoe United Methodist Church, where she loved serving the Lord and spending time with her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.B. Carlisle; Son, Jerry Wayne Carlisle; Grandson, Jason Lee Carlisle; Sister, Gail Knox and four brothers, Bill Knox, Earl Knox, Mack Knox and James Briley.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Lou Newell of Conetoe, NC; Son, Bobby Carlisle and wife June of Conetoe, NC. Six grandchildren; Judy Caton and husband Phil of Stokes, N.C., Crystal Carlisle of Dover, DE., Amy Dixon and husband Brian of Conetoe, NC, Ashley Carlisle of Greenville, NC, David Newell and wife Lawanda of FL., and Robin Whitaker and husband Kevin of SC. Seven Great-grandchildren; Phillip Caton and wife Hannah, Brian Caton and wife Kimberly, Julian Burgess, Cooper Dixon, Austin Dixon, Jayden Newell and Jacob Newell. Four great-great grandchildren; Carson Caton, Landon Caton, Caleb Caton and Harper Caton. As well survived by her sisters; Irma Schultz, Louise Thompson, Hazel Oakley, Lorraine Stalls and husband Bobby; brother, Harry Knox and wife Carolyn and sister-n-law, Alma Knox; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro on Friday, September 20th, 2019 from 9:00am to 10:00am and graveside service to follow at 10:00am, at Edgecombe Memorial in Tarboro with the Reverend Ron Elkins officiating. Family will receive friends at the home of Bobby and June Carlisle of Tarboro, N.C. at other times.
