Doris Lancaster Letchworth, 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital. Many of you remember her as the "Avon Lady." She served the Tarboro area for several years. She later owned and operated Helen and Doris' Clothing Store in Pinetops.

She was born in Edgecombe County on February 11, 1934 to the late Samuel and Lula Flood Lancaster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Allen Letchworth; sisters, Tilda Jones, Wilda Harrell, Thelma Harris, Lizzie Abrams, Ida Eason and brother, Ray Lancaster.

She is survived by her son, Stanley Allen Letchworth (Crystal) of Pinetops; sister Shirley Renfrow, of Wilson; brother Gary Lancaster, of Pinetops; grandchildren, Allen Letchworth (Brooke), of Pinetops, Jason Letchworth (Brittany), of Rocky Mount, Stacey Letchworth, of Coronado, California and great-grandchildren, Aaron, Farrah, Vivienne, Karsyn and Hudson Letchworth.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 12 Noon in Williams Cemetery on Flood Store Road, Sharpsburg, NC. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00-12:00 at the cemetery and other times at 206 North Third Street, Pinetops, NC.
