Dorothy Jeannette Sessoms Winchester, age 77, of Tarboro passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am in Greenwood Cemetery on Friday, July 13 with the Reverend Benjamin E. E. Kane officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 12, from 6:00-8:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home.

Born in Edgecombe County on October 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Sessoms and Catherine Hudson Sessoms.

She spent her married life in Tarboro, NC where she was active with her family, friends, and community life.  She was a devoted caretaker to many family members and spent her life making sure everyone she knew was loved and cared for.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Ronald G. Winchester, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie W. Whitehurst and husband George F. Whitehurst, Jr., and her son, Ronald G. Winchester, Jr. and wife Janice Winchester, brother, William Sessoms and wife Anagret Sessoms; five grandchildren, Sara Whitehurst, Hanna Whitehurst, Hope Whitehurst, Grace Whitehurst, and Kristy Sykes Rodman (Seth), and one great-grandson, Mason Rodman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
