Edna Doris Godfrey, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 19, 2019. Born in Wake County on March 18,1928, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mildred Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Godfrey Sr; brothers, Vernon Taylor and Victor Haywood Taylor

Doris was a member of Englewood Assembly of God. She loved to crochet dish cloths and give to her friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Doris leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, William Godfrey and wife Dawn, a daughter Sharon Godfrey, and a sister, Marie Fields.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Gregory and husband Ryan, Haileigh Godfrey and Brett Godfrey and seven great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Englewood Assembly of God with Rev. Ron Dyson and Kenneth Finney officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2.00PM prior to the service at the church.
